Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast Announces New Board
In the United States, March is recognized as Women’s History Month and Pensacola’s Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast (PWGC) is making history this month. PWGC is undergoing a transformation that will strengthen the organization, the community, and its members. Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast has been recognized by the City of Pensacola as an important organization supporting business women in our area and is building momentum.
A new Board of Directors has been named along with new Officers who will guide the growth and direction of the organization. The new Board of seventeen individuals constitutes a wide variety of skills, talents, and backgrounds bringing diverse thinking to PWGC. Board members represent the areas of real estate, accounting and finance, health and wellness, beauty and skin care, fitness, entertainment, retail, and professional services.
The following seventeen individuals have assumed positions on the Board of Directors for Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast:
Officers: Christina Powers; J Christine Briggs, ARNP; Mia Bolden, ACC; Alyssa Warren, MS LMHC
Board Members: Lacie J Bowden; Felicia Fortune Northcutt; Laura Swann; Margie Kalaluhi; Cheryl Weir; Kaila A Barrington; Dr. Lynne Virant, PT, DPT; Chris Watley; Lorie A Weekley; Bethany Lauren; Patrica Allbritton; and Madrina Ciano. Kolleen Edwards Chesley will continue to lead the organization as founding director.

The mission of the Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is to promote, advance and improve women in business. Based in Pensacola, Florida, this not-for-profit organization advocates a culture of confidence building, lifelong learning, collaboration, empowering others, and a spirit of charitable giving. Through monthly networking meetings, an annual fundraising conference supporting the Gulf Coast Kid’s House, podcasts, and educational series, Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast supports women who are making a positive impact in their business, the lives of others, and the community. Founded in 2004, the organization continues to grow under the leadership of Kolleen Edwards Chelsey, serving as founding director.

Grover Robinson, District 4
Commissioner Grover C. Robinson, IV, is a seventh generation Pensacolian who currently serves as Escambia County’s District 4 Commissioner. Robinson has served on the county commission since 2006, and was appointed chairman in 2010 and 2016. He has also serves as chairman for the Florida Gulf Consortium. His past services include president of the Florida Association of Counties from 2014-15, 2016 class member of Leadership Florida and National Association of Counties at-large board member.
Robinson has been actively involved in the community, serving as a current or past board member for the Pensacola State College Foundation, Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida, United Way of Escambia County, Baptist Health Care Foundation, Christ Church Episcopal Parish and more. He and his wife Jill have two children, Grover V and Anna Lowrey.
