Listen as CFOradio.com host Lorraine Chilvers interviews Linda Posner-Downing, Fraud Auditor at the Department of Justice. Linda’s experience is in fraud investigations, financial analysis, auditing, internal controls, and government programs compliance in the Healthcare industry.

Prior to her present position, Linda was a Senior Internal Auditor for the St. Joseph’s Candler Health System in Savannah, Georgia. While there, she investigated and reported to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors regarding audit results and investigations, using analysis of financial records, evaluation of public records, interviewing, and assessing intelligence information. She initiated  investigations based on continuous monitoring of financial and operational data and conducted investigations in response to Compliance Hotline tips and Senior Management requests.

In this interview, Linda Posner-Downing will discuss the auditor’s perspective on fraud vigilance and intelligence.

He is a past President, and member of the Board of Directors, of the Atlanta Chapter of the ACG, and he is a founder, and member of the Executive Committee of the ACG Atlanta Capital Connection, which is the largest M&A and private equity conference in the Southeastern United States.

Jeremy Sperring, CFO, Partner and COO for Frazier & Deeter, is interviewed by host Lorraine Chilvers in our May 30 2011 CFOradio broadcast. Sperring has a multiplicity of roles at this CPA firm that keeps him busy with day-to-day operations, business process efficiencies, and overseeing the administrative and technology functions of the firm in addition to his finance role. Listen as Jeremy describes his career path from audit manager to finance and operations executive.

Jeremy’s background includes performing audits, reviews, compilations and other assurance and attestation services of closely held companies. Additionally, he has extensive experience providing cash flow analysis, financial forecasting and corporate and individual income tax services. In the past, this M.A. Georgia Tech grad has worked with manufacturing, contracting, technology, distribution and professional service entities on the road to his current position.

Mary Madden is Chairman and Executive Director of the Atlanta office of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).  Mary recently grew Information America, Inc. from $0 to $25 million in profitable revenue with venture capital backing, executed an IPO, and finally the sale of the entire company. The venture capitalist doubled their money.

Mary has experience with several other early stage companies as well as large and later stage companies, who often acquire entrepreneurial companies.  She also has worked to turn around companies that have misjudged the market, ignored financial warning signs, become too complacent to change, or were unable to position themselves strategically in a particular market.

Mary has been active for eight years in the Central Eurasia Leadership Academy providing education and contacts for rising leaders in the nine countries of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Afghanistan.
