TV Host Melanie Snare on Networking
Former Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader Melanie Snare talks with host Dana Barrett about her career path from NFL cheerleader to TV Host, producer, actress, model and talent agent. She says it’s all about getting to know people and staying open to the possibilities. Clearly one of the reason Melanie has been so successful is that she is as down to earth and likable as she is beautiful. She genuinely likes the people she works with and is not interested in being a diva.
Listen to Melanie discuss some of her current projects, share some casting opportunities and talk about her new blog, www.HowSheDoesItAll.com.
Maudlin Atlanta on Set Decoration
Bryan Rose, a partner in Maudlin, a retail store and interior design studio with locations in La Jolla, CA and here in Atlanta talks to host Dana Barrett about the design business, what set decorators are looking for and how he and his partner Jennifer Van Galder (one of the original Doublemint Twins) got involved in the world of film and television production both here in Atlanta and in LA.
Tom Thon: An Actor’s Perspective
Tom Thon joins host Dana Barrett to talk about his journey in and out of the business as an actor, director and producer. His current projects include several films both in front of and behind the camera and directing a play called TALKIN WITH by Jane Martin at a new theater in Metro Atlanta called Out of Box Theater. As the two talk about the project they also talk about why some theaters are not making it in the current economic climate and some are.
In addition to some wonderful advice for actors, Tom shares a little bit about the SAG/AFTRA union merger and the state of the business in Atlanta.
Joshilyn Jackson talks about A GROWN UP KIND OF PRETTY
Guess what happens tomorrow? No? Okay let me help you… Joshilyn Jackson’s new book A GROWN UP KIND OF PRETTY hits bookstore shelves – and if you pre-ordered then maybe your mailbox too!
Joshilyn is one of our favorite authors here at Midtown Review, and I for one, can’t wait to start reading this one. Here’s the description of A GROWN UP KIND OF PRETTY from Joshilyn’s website – or even better listen to Joshilyn describe the book and bring the characters to life in my most recent interview with her.
As with all the Midtown Review podcasts, this one also contains a sneak peek of what Joshilyn is working on next!
As always, I hope you enjoy the interview! And be sure to check out the rest of the author interview series on iTunes!
Ken Feinberg talks about Creative Studios of Atlanta
It’s great when you can get an actor, a director, a producer and the owner of Creative Studios of Atlanta all in one room to talk about ShowBiz. Especially when they’re all wrapped in one great guy! Ken Feinberg joined host Dana Barrett at the brand new 200 Peachtree Street studios to talk about his background, his almost-kiss with Alyssa Milano and his projects and beloved students at Creative Studios of Atlanta.
The two chatted about Ken’s path to where he is today, some of the amazing projects he’s working on, like a two week intensive study in Cannes during the film festival, and his love for the business and for his students. They also talked about the past, present and future of the business in Atlanta.
