My esteemed guests, Jay Ferro, Jamie Lewis, and Carrie Bates Hastings are not only great friends but they are also great Servant Leaders in our community. One of the highlights of our time together was a call in from David Sprowl, Executive Director of the Lutheran Towers. David is another Servant Leader who left a more financially lucrative career at IBM for a more spiritual lucrative career serving others. He gives dignity to the over 200 low to mid income seniors who live in Lutheran Towers. TechBridge is allowing him to serve more people at a lower cost with more dignity. You Don’t Have to Be Sick to Get Better – Dr. Tim O’Connor, Catalyst Physical Medicine

Dr. Tim O’Connor is one of those Yankees – you know the kind – the kind that came down to visit, spending summers and spring breaks in Myrtle Beach, and then stayed!  But we’re glad he did!  Tim grew up in an Irish Italian home with a mother who was a nurse.  As such, their home became a clinic, of sorts, for extended family, friends and other random “patients”!

When his sister was young, she became very ill.  Her diagnosis defied doctors for several years, until they finally informed the family that she had Lupus – no hope, no cure.  Not satisfied with this diagnosis, the family turned to different doctors – doctors that offered a more wholistic and natural approach.  They discovered that she had more than 40 food allergies, that her body had become highly toxic and that she was malnourished.  Through an approach to remove blockages and cleanse her body of toxins, Tim’s sister completely recovered in about 18 months.

My background is comes from the corporate planning side. I worked for a strategy consulting firm (Bain & Company). Among my day-to-day analyst responsibilities, weekly team dinners, holiday parties, & sales dinners also fell under my umbrella. It was really at this point that I realized the challenges of booking venues. We thought finding a venue to host your dinner or event should’ve been as easy as booking a hotel on Orbitz.

I left my job about a year ago with a colleague of mine (Nick) to start a company in the restaurant industry. We spent about 6 months working with all different types of restaurants before we fully developed the idea behind Gather.
