We opened the show with Nina Sawczuk from Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) – the ATDC helps connect technology start-ups with the resources they need to succeed. Nina is the General Manager of ATDC, and she discussed Georgia’s technology industry, shared insight on the burgeoning local tech startup scene and provided tips for young entrepreneurs.
Next up we had on Mary Lynn Miler with SHRM Atlanta. Mary Lynn is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) who started her association management career in 1981. Since coming to SHRM-Atlanta, Mary Lynn has worked with volunteer Board and leadership, and the staff team, to grow SHRM-Atlanta 40% since 2006 and has achieved 22% improvement in member satisfaction. She was also involved with SHRM-Atlanta launching a quarterly print magazine, monthly electronic magazine, webinar offerings, and a revamped sponsorship program, among other new member benefits and events. If you are a human resources professional who wants to connect with other HR professionals then you should check out the next SHRM Atlanta event.
And we closed the show with Layne Davlin with Einstein HR. Layne explained that most business owners never went into business to deal with payroll and HR issues. He recommended that you outsource the things that don’t make you money, focus on the one’s that do! Outsourcing the non-productive tasks greatly benefits the employer through increased focus on revenue producing activities.
