Dr. Myla Bennett Powell, Preserve Your Pretty
Dr. Myla is a highly educated, experienced plastic surgeon with several years of experience. She has dedicated her career to performing advanced plastic surgery procedures. Dr. Myla honed her plastic surgery skills by completing surgical residencies in general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as specialized aesthetic surgery fellowship training. Dr. Myla focuses on delivering aesthetic enhancements that emphasize her patients’ natural beauty while concealing undesirable aesthetic imperfections. She uses cutting-edge techniques, revolutionary instruments and has been a pioneer in the art of combining treatments in order to deliver exceptional aesthetic outcomes.
Medical Education
Dr. Myla earned a degree in biology at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. She then completed a specialized post-graduate program in medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Myla received her Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where she also completed her general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery residencies. In order to gain further expertise in craniofacial surgery, Dr. Myla pursued an advanced craniofacial plating course. In addition, she has completed coursework at Duke University. Due to Dr. Myla’s excellent professional background and surgical skills, she was admitted into the renowned aesthetic surgery fellowship program at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Research and Publications
While pursuing her medical education, Dr. Myla contributed to many research projects, and has authored as well as co-authored several medical publications. Dr. Myla has participated in research projects focused on burn treatments, wound healing, and studies involving DNA and RNA extractions from various tissue samples. Some of Dr. Myla’s publications include articles and abstracts on tuberous breast deformity, breast reconstruction, and dermal wound treatments.
Awards and Recognitions
Throughout her academic studies and hands-on training, Dr. Myla has received numerous recognitions. She is the recipient of The Ohio State University Samuel L. Roessler Research Fellowship Award and has been recognized for excellence in surgery, plastic surgery and laparoscopic surgery. While in medical school, Dr. Myla was selected to serve as an instructor and tutor to other medical students in such disciplines as immunology, biochemistry and anatomy.
