Born and raised in Canada, Co-Founder Matt Piccinin grew up vacationing in Carolina Beach, NC.
After moving to the states, he eventually settled in Carolina Beach and completed his B.A. in Business and Marketing at the University of NC Wilmington. Matt started his career in construction but soon realized his dream of opening his own business.
He, along with Co-founder Sean Cook, opened the first Shuckin’ Shack location in the fall of 2007. After spending several years learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business, the two opened a second location in the fall of 2011 and began Shuckin’ Shack Franchising in spring 2014.
Matt resides in Carolina Beach with his wife, LeeAnn, and 2 children. In his spare time, Matt enjoys fishing, surfing, and golfing.
