Walk for Lunch, www.walkforlunch.com, is an 4-week/8-day walking program designed to encourage downtown businesses, governments and employees to walk along planned walking routes during their lunch hour. The basic premise is to provide employees/participants with an out-of-the-box incentive plan to walk every week by giving them a healthy lunch in a safe, fun, and exciting environment. Each walker will receive healthy lunches from Subway restaurant, a walking map to Woodruff Park, a Walk for Lunch water bottle, an ID badge, chance to win give-aways, and the experience of exercising with fellow employees and other like minded & spirited people.
Event directors and founders, Zaquis and Zachary Ross, are Atlanta residents who want to help fellow Atlantans enjoy the benefits of a lifestyle that includes moderate exercise, nutrition, and healthy habits. We discussed with the Ross’: how the event got started; what they hope to accomplish; what’s been the response to-date; and how can interested companies & individuals find out more information.
