Kerri Riggs, LCSW, Social Worker
Kerri Riggs graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of West Florida in 2007. She was hired to the social work department of Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola as a direct result of her senior internship. While working, she pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree through Florida State University and graduated in 2011. She obtained her licensure as a clinical social worker (LCSW) in March 2014.
Kerri worked primarily on the Inpatient Medical Oncology unit prior to transitioning to the Palliative Care department. It was this experience that led her to the Palliative Care team that treats not just the patient but the person as a “whole.” It is her belief that including the support system of a chronically or seriously ill patient is critical to any treatment plan. It is her hope that she can assist patients and their families cope while connecting them to vital resources.
