Patti Duckworth/American Red Cross Northeast Georgia Chapter
The American Red Cross is in local communities every day; helping people prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. Teach life-saving skills, providing resources for military families and helping international families in crisis. They also support our Southern Blood Services region in their efforts to ensure a safe and ready blood supply in Georgia.
How do they empower so many of their neighbors to respond to emergencies? By mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Turning heartbreak into hope with everyone’s help! American Red Cross in the Georgia Region has been able to make a difference in the local community because of the generosity of donors and support of volunteers.
The mission is more than words. Aiming to prevent and relieve suffering with every action. The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides comfort to people affected by disasters. Supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood, teaches skills that save lives and distributes international humanitarian aid. The Red Cross also supports veterans, military members and their families. The Red Cross is not a government agency, but is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to deliver its mission.
