Living for today… Business owners are notoriously busy– ALL THE TIME. A big problem with that is they are missing opportunities to connect with others… How often do you take the time to connect with people you know? What’s it going to take for you to make time to do it?
During this episode of North GA Business Radio, special guest J.D. Mealor of Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking at Regions Bank and host Phil Bonelli are doing a lightning round of local business shout-outs!
Almost here — Nick St. Caire is the AH-mazing Chef of Antebellum and Peyton’s Pie Co., is opening Caroline’s — breakfast and brunch — in downtown Flowery Branch!
Haydee’s Cafe and Haydee’s Meat Market on Atlanta Hwy! Delightful homemade Mexican food plus to-die-for fresh meats from their market.
Gainesville Flooring — aside from doing amazing flooring and tile work, they do an exceptional job of creating a cherished “client family.”
Thom Price of Visiting Angels from Warner Robins GA. Superb home-care service provider.
Meadowlark Coffee. Simply the BEST!
Faith And Archery — If it’s time to get your bow tuned up for hunting season, Chuck Henzy is the man to see!
Harrison Oil and Tire — Dependable, trustworthy and so very good at what they do. BONUS – you can walk to Meadowlark and get a coffee while you wait!
We’re also talking about FRAUD. And how to avoid becoming a victim of these very clever and resourceful thieves.
RULE NUMBER 1 — NEVER NEVER NEVER give anyone your login credentials to ANYTHING over the phone. If they say they are calling you from your bank, they don’t need your credentials — they already have them.
RULE NUMBER 2 — Don’t send checks (or cash) in the mail. Postal workers are getting robbed all the time. Your check if it’s in the mail has ALL of the account information a thief needs to wipe out your bank account (and steal your identity).
RULE NUMBER 3 — If you bank/pay online, BOOKMARK your login pages. Be VERY careful when searching for a login page via Google. These fraudsters are SEO savvy and can capture your info through a false login page before you even realize what happened.
RULE NUMBER 4 — If you are a business owner and you get an email from one of your vendors requesting you update your banking info with them — DO NOT DO IT based on that email. Give them a call to VERIFY all of that information. While it might be legit, nowadays 9 times out of 10 it is a hacker. And they will steal all of your money.
