2018 ATHENA HAIL Awards “Women Ignite Change”

Registration: www.athenaaz.com. Tickets are $85 each and proceeds help provide leadership programs to women and also to high school girls in grades 11 & 12 in East Valley High Schools.
The event will honor a 2018 ATHENA Leadership Honoree and Keynote Speaker, Dr. Eileen Borris, and 6 HAIL (Honoring ATHENA Inspired Leaders) – extraordinary women leaders in our local Arizona community. Each HAIL honoree represents a different ATHENA Principle (below). Young ATHENA’s (girls in grades 11 & 12 from East Valley Schools) will act as emcee’s.
Holly Rose, HAIL Honoree – Act Courageously
After conquering breast cancer at the age of 39, Holly Rose was filled with a desire to give back to her community and leave a legacy for her daughters. Holly founded the non-profit Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! to empower women with the facts regarding breast cancer to help save lives and to directly assist women in need by providing breast cancer patients a free new wig and hosting free mammogram events. Holly’s courage, passion and unwavering commitment to educate and assist the breast cancer community has been honored with many esteemed awards.

Susan Cordts, HAIL Honoree – Foster Collaboration
Susan Cordts is an empowering business leader who fosters diversity, innovation and broad and deep collaboration with others to improve health outcomes for patient members, providers, institutions, caregivers and communities. As CEO, Susan founded Catalytic Health Partners to dramatically improve healthcare using real-time data, supported by proprietary technology, and compassionate people delivering outstanding care. Through collaboration, it is her focus to impact more than 1,000,000 lives. Susan is a serial entrepreneur, investor, business leader and civic trailblazer. Prior to CHP, Susan was CEO at Adaptive Technologies, Inc., SVP at CHG Capital, and CEO of Universal Robot Systems.

Jill Mapstead, HAIL Honoree – Advocate Fiercely
Jill Mapstead began her career in Special Education, then graduate school in Organizational Development. As a philanthropist, Jill’s mantra is John Wesley’s quote: “Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.”
Jill advocates for the disabled, empowers women through business ownership and financial choice, and advocates for the rights of women in our country in her roles as Board Chair for the YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix, and Board President of Detour Company Theatre, an authentic performance troupe for adults with cognitive and/or physical challenges. A teacher at heart, Jill is at her very best when contributing to the learning of others, and loves to mentor the next generation.
