Betsy Berkhemer-Credaire Kathleen Duffy Ybarra and Carrie Young with 2020 Women on Boards
2020 Women On Boards is a national campaign dedicated to increasing the percentage of women on corporate boards to 20% by 2020. The campaign redefines successful corporate governance, gender diversity standards, and creates a cultural imperative for corporate action. Together, we can make it happen!
Betsy Berkhemer-Credaire is CEO of 2020 Women on Boards. In January 2018, Betsy was named national CEO of the 501c3 nonprofit public awareness campaign called “2020 Women on Boards” dedicated to achieving at least 20% of all public company board seats held by women by the year 2020. Its website 2020WOB.com tracks the Russell 3000 Index companies in the U.S. citing how many women are on each board, if any.
As of 2018, the national statistic is 17.7% of all board seats in the Russell 3000 are held by women; and one-fourth of all public companies don’t have any women directors.
Author of the book “The Board Game – How Smart Women Become Corporate Directors,” with 10,000 copies in distribution nationally, Betsy explains how 58 women directors found their first board seats.
For 17 years, Betsy chaired the Los Angeles/Orange County chapter of Women Corporate Directors (WCD), a global nonprofit network of women serving on public and private boards. She is a frequent keynote speaker throughout the U.S.
Since 2000, she has served on the statewide board of the National Association of Women Business Owners-California (NAWBO-CA), and was instrumental in getting SB 826 passed, the first law in the country to require more women on public company boards.
Previously, she was on board of Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN) for 25 years, and the advisory boards of Edison (SCE) and UCLA Medical Center.
Kathleen Duffy Ybarra is the founder and president of Duffy Group, Inc., a global recruiting firm. Her commitment to serving candidates and clients motivated Kathleen to develop the Recruitment Research model which enables Duffy Group to harness marketplace intelligence, work as a discrete (and transparent) partner and deliver quality candidates with up to 50 percent savings over traditional recruitment fees.
Kathleen is a highly-regarded keynote speaker on recruiting techniques, processes, and entrepreneurship. Recently, she was selected as a 2019 Most Admired Leaders honoree by the Phoenix Business Journal.
In 2018, Kathleen was honored for her leadership, community service, and dedication to mentorship by being awarded the ATHENA Business Woman of the Year Award in the private sector. Kathleen was also recognized by Arizona Society of Human Resource Management with the Al O’Connor Lifetime Achievement Award.
In 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 Kathleen was an honoree of the Sun Devil 100 which celebrates the achievements of Arizona State alumni who own or lead businesses across the globe and exemplify the spirit of ASU as the New American University.
Kathleen serves as Co-Chair on 2020 Woman on Boards and is Co-Chair of the No Longer Homeless Capital Campaign Cabinet. A founding member of the Arizona Human Resource Executive Forum, Kathleen was Past Board Chair for the ASU Alumni Association.
She served on the ASU Board of Trustees and Leadership Counsel. Kathleen is an active member of the Kappa Delta Advisory Board. Kathleen earned a B.A. in Communications from Arizona State University.
