Originally from Canada, Dr. Raman Mahabir completed his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Calgary in Alberta Canada. Dr. Mahabir simultaneously earned a master’s degree with a focus on postoperative pain control. To ensure he would be able to offer his patients unsurpassed care, he completed two years of additional in Aesthetic /Breast Surgery and Microsurgery. He is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In recognition of his accomplishments and excellence in Plastic Surgery, Dr. Mahabir was named the 2017-2018 Plastic Surgery Foundation’s Visiting Professor and has become one the most sought- after plastic surgeons in Scottsdale, Phoenix, and the surrounding areas.
His practice focuses on breast, body, and facial cosmetic. He quickly built a reputation as a caring physician with outstanding outcomes. His contributions to education, which twice earned him the teacher of the year award, and research endeavors (over 80 publications and hundreds of presentations nationally and internationally) lead to him being elected President of the Arizona Society of Plastic Surgeons and being promoted to full professor. Dr. Mahabir has a particular interest in Breast surgery. His passion for helping breast cancer patients regain a sense of wholeness following mastectomy led him to spend time in Washington DC where he was part of the team that successfully had the “Breast Cancer Patient Education Act” signed into law in 2015.

Tina’s Treasures at the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center is a boutique specially designed to meet the needs of cancer patients, survivors and their families. Tina’s Treasures can help you with mastectomy bra fittings, breast prosthesis, and post surgical camisoles. The shop also carries a broad selection of other items in a boutique environment. The boutique is named in honor of Tina Johnson, a cancer survivor. She dreamed of a special shop where individuals and families facing cancer could find the help they need on their journey. The boutique is accredited by the American Board for Certification and is staffed by board-certified prosthetic and wig fitters–some of the top 1% in the nation. Whether newly diagnosed, currently in treatment or a longtime survivor, you’ll find personalized services in a private, comforting and positive environment.

LeAnn Porter started her career in major department stores from Los Angeles, CA to Dallas, TX. Finding satisfaction in helping women find exactly what they needed, she excelled in selecting clothing and accessories.
Along the way, Intimate Apparel was under her supervision, igniting a passion for helping women truly feel and look their best. She taught bra and foundation fitting throughout the Southwest for several years, until 1993 when she was approached to move into the cosmetic and fragrance arena, where she spent the last 14 years of her department store career.
In 2008, LeAnn found herself at Scottsdale Healthcare as the Auxiliary Gift Shop Manager and Buyer. When the position for Supervisor for Tina’s Treasures came to her attention, it was a natural fit and a way to personally connect with the women who needed her skills at a critical time in their lives.
