There were certainly many Life Made to Order moments in this segment. Meghan Adams with Arizona Foundation for Women shared their goals and celebrations coming up in 2020. Follow them to find out more about their 25th Anniversary Celebration and what they plan for the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment. This summer they will be offering a membership option as well. Dan Salter with Dignity Memorial shared what separates Dignity from other providers and his story about how he got into the business is very intriguing. Dignity Memorial also has a strong focus on Veterans and Military Families.
Megan Adams with Arizona Foundation for Women and Dan Salter and Debbee Donahue with Dignity Memorial are doing some amazing things in our community. Our in-house guest Debbee Donohue with Dignity Memorial realized the she had a prior connection with Dan as he spent time in Greeley, CO and she grew up there. We love how we get to facilitate a platform where peoples stories intertwine.
Dignity Memorial is the largest owner and operator of Funeral Homes, Cemeteries and Crematories. Began in 1964 by Robert L. Waltrip in Houston, Texas. Phoenix is one of several “Major” Markets in the U.S. Actually they have a significant presence in most larger metropolitan areas as well as smaller communities.
Dan Salter is a 50 year death care professional with 38 of those years spent with Dignity Memorial. Prior to his career with Dignity he was in the municipal sector managing city cemeteries. He began his career with Dignity Memorial in Florida in 1981 as it’s Regional Operations Manager. He moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in the same capacity then on to Kansas, Oklahoma City, Arizona, Texas and back to Phoenix.
Dan served the various State Association in varying roles. He served both Oklahoma and Arizona as President on 2 separate occasion. He is currently serving on the Arizona Funeral Cemetery and Cremation Association as a board member and Secretary.
At Arizona Foundation for Women, we envision an Arizona where women are safe, healthy and economically independent. Our mission is quite similar, in that we work to advance the status of Arizona’s women through research, advocacy and philanthropy to ensure their safety, health and economic independence.
Meghan Adams has a background in communications and digital marketing, and has experience supporting other nonprofits in that capacity. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications Studies from The Catholic University of America.
Prior to coming to AFW, Meghan was the Digital Marketing Manager / Executive Assistant at Scottsdale Pediatric Behavioral Services/ Scottsdale Children’s Institute. Before moving to Arizona, Meghan lived in Washington D.C. and served as the event and communications assistant at Casey Trees.
