Giving Back #1 E6
Being in real estate isn’t just about making money, it’s also about making dreams come true. Those dreams could be buying a first home, finding a location to start or expand a business, or contributing to a charitable organization and giving back to the community.
This week Carla highlights the amazing efforts of the local organization, Horses Help. Horses Help is the largest therapy riding center in the state of Arizona. It began with a physical therapist and a horse and grew into an incredible volunteer driven organization that helps children and adults by offering equine therapy. Gregg Goodman grew up in Alamo, California. He attended the University of Mississippi on a baseball scholarship and graduated in 1981. He pursued a Masters degree at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson in the field of medical microbiology.
After transferring to Arizona with his wife Jann and three children, Jann began her private practice in Hipppotherapy at Horses Help. Gregg located a property in East Mesa to begin their therapy programs. Gregg left his company after 20 years to begin his mission to create a model for Therapeutic Riding Centers.
Since taking over Horses Help, Gregg has focused his attention solely on the Horses Help organization, its Board development, creating diversity in programs and moving toward sustainability adding value to the mission of Horses Help. The center has maintained its Premier Accreditation status since 2000. One of only three centers in Arizona.
Mr. Goodman has been the Arizona State Representative for PATH International for more than 15 years.
