The Future of Company On-Boarding with Lisa Glenn Nobles E22
In this episode of The Future of Work: Water Cooler Conversations we are joined by Lisa Glenn Nobles Operations Navigator for Journeyage. We discussed Lisa’s path to leadership, how to cultivate company cultures of belonging and how on-boarding can actually be made to be fun and customized for the learner. Lisa also let us in on what on-boarding and company culture looks like at Journeyage.
If you are looking for ways to increase a sense of community within your company culture, this episode has some great things to consider. Including where to start if you haven’t looked at your on-boarding process in awhile. Lisa talks through the components that should be included to help your new employees understand what the company is really like. For anyone who is looking to build a diverse, innovative and welcoming company culture – this is a must listen!
Everyone knows exactly what bad training experiences feel like. Fluorescent lighting, bad coffee, a disinterested presenter, and PowerPoints with templates that explore the full spectrum of beige. It’s painful, but it doesn’t have to be this way. Journeyage helps you to create engaging, personalized, and highly relevant training that your employees and users will actually learn from and love.
They are on a mission to co-create the world’s most transformative workplace experience, and we believe that this starts with their company first. They are building an employee-first corporate experience designed to change the world.
50’s housewife by interest and intersectional feminist by passion, Lisa Glenn Nobles is just as likely to be whipping up strawberry jalapeno preserves as crafting a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging action plan for Journeyage.
Her professional passions include building systems, creating strong cultures that value humans over profits, and making Slack a fun place to be. When she’s not working on operations at Journeyage, she can just as likely be found:
- Hiking in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve
- Binge-watching Queer Eye while having a good cry
- Planning her next international trip (South America, Japan, Kazakhstan and New Zealand are on the short list)
- Hanging out with her husband throwing the ball to Labrador Clarence or cuddling with ragdoll cat Honey
Lisa came to Journeyage after a journey through the nonprofit, operations, and education sectors, finding her true home at Journeyage (where she gets to do all those things!). She volunteers regularly with ConstellateAZ, a local nonprofit dedicated to getting high risk youth involved in entrepreneurship. If you’d like to share a recipe or an idea for generosity initiatives, Lisa can be found at:

ABOUT YOUR CO-HOSTS
With a background in marketing, in various for profit and not for profit companies, Kyle McIntosh wondered, “How can I pair the passion and commitment to community progress of a non-profit with the sustainability and reach of a for profit company?” From this question and perspective a mission evolved to tear down the false distinction between the two sectors and to promote companies with Conscious Capitalism® business models through MAC6.
Kyle is the President and Creative Excitant of MAC6. Day to day, his main operational role is on the “spaces” side of the business, focusing on creating thriving communities in the commercial office buildings, the co-working space, and the co-manufacturing space. The other role that he plays is that of EOS implementer, working with clients to bring the Entrepreneurial Operating System, from the book Traction® to their businesses. Additionally, he sits on the boards of Conscious Capitalism Arizona, telling the stories of good businesses in Arizona, and The Tempe Chamber of Commerce, sustaining Tempe’s quality of life and keeping our community and economy vibrant.
Kyle loves Arizona and wants to see us all collectively find great success based on the awesome things that are happening here every day.
