Jackson County Mental Health Task Force

Join Probate Judge Sherry Moore and other community leaders for a monthly meeting of the Jackson County Mental Health Task Force, a collaborative effort focused on improving mental health awareness, expanding local resources, and reducing stigma across the county. Launched in May 2023 in partnership with Family Connection, the Task Force brings together educators, healthcare professionals, law enforcement, faith leaders, and concerned citizens to address the growing mental health needs of Jackson County families. Meetings are open to anyone interested in supporting or learning more about local mental health initiatives. The group gathers on the second Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Jackson EMC Board Room, 850 Commerce Road, Jefferson, Georgia.

Sherry Moore is the Probate Judge of Jackson County, Georgia, now serving her fourth term.

She sits on the board of Advantage Behavioral Health and the Local Advisory Board for Project Aware, a mental health initiative in the Jackson County School System.

She also serves as President of the Jackson County Historical Society. In May 2023, Judge Moore partnered with Family Connection to launch the Jackson County Mental Health Task Force, aimed at addressing community mental health needs and reducing stigma.

Her leadership has been recognized with two major honors: 2024 Public Servant of the Year by the Rotary Club and 2024 Woman of the Year by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.

Tom Sheldon is a lifelong Georgian and longtime businessman in the Northeast Georgia area.

With a strong history in the business networking world; Tom has served as Chairman, President and Vice-President in multiple networking organizations. His fundamentals are simple: build relationships through networking and provide support when needed. After all, “we do business with people we know and like.” This has given him the ability in the past to build a successful small business in an ultra- competitive environment.

Tom has worked with other BRX studios since 2018 as a host and guest host; he is now the proud CEO and Executive Producer of the Northeast Georgia Business RadioX Studio. The podcasting world nicely compliments his Voice Over career he began in 2019.
