Ken Alexander is the founder of the award-winning restaurant Ken’s Hardwood BBQ in Tucson, AZ.
You were reared by a single mom but in a community where family and food were at the center of daily life and you came to love old-fashioned southern cooking and the magical way it brings people together. Ken is proud of the fact that he learned the values of focus, hard work, and discipline, as a football athlete and then coach, as well as the fact that he was a US Marine — all of which served to give him that grounding.
As a successful entrepreneur, Ken’s career as a business development executive, traveling internationally and enjoying & experiencing new cultures through their food set him on the path he is now on with his business.
Ken is inspired by projects that allow him to work with the family to empower and uplift his community. Ken’s Hardwood Barbecue is the award-winning family-owned restaurant known for its unique and delicious fusion of southern down-home cooking and fresh-smoked meats. His secret! Descending from 4 generations of passionate cooks and restaurateurs in Kentucky and Tennessee, Ken’s has gleaned the very best of their exclusive family recipes to create scrumptious offerings of entrees, sides, and desserts, Original rubs, and sauces, combined with the secret low-and-slow approach of their 3 accomplished Pit Masters, brings a one-of-a-kind flavor to Tucson, AZ. Born and raised in Tucson, Bob says, “Whenever I try to leave the truck breaks down. After a time you get to know everyone and they all become part of who you are. So why leave?”
Bob put himself through college; Rodeoed in his younger years; was a past President of BIC, and past board member of the March of Dimes. He has written 2 books and is raising a beautiful daughter and has a dog named Batman. In his spare time hr love to visit rodeos, camp, country concerts, bbq, build furniture and writes.
Bob’s role at Stewart Title is diverse and includes doing classes, radio, public speaking and bringing in commercial and residential business to Stewart Title. I teach:
