Under John’s direction, Stantec has grown its ability to deliver large and complex water projects addressing climate change and urbanization, as well as the need for sustainable food, water, and energy solutions for a growing world population.
John earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of New Brunswick and his Master’s in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Alberta.
John is well known in the water industry for his expertise in water conveyance planning and design and has been involved in more than 100 projects around the world over the past 25 years.
One of John’s proudest achievements was helping to reduce hurricane storm damage and flooding risk for the New Orleans community with the $730M design-build Permanent Canal Closures and Pumps project. One of the largest drainage pumping systems in the world capable of moving more than 16 billion gallons of water per day, the project was featured on the History Channel show “Project Impossible”.
