Commerce City Schools’ Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) and Work-Based Learning (WBL) programs are designed to prepare students for success beyond the classroom by connecting academic learning with real-world experience. Through hands-on instruction, industry-aligned pathways, and meaningful partnerships with local businesses and community organizations, students gain practical skills that translate directly into today’s workforce.

The CTAE program offers students exposure to high-demand career fields, helping them explore interests, develop technical competencies, and earn industry-recognized credentials. Complementing this instruction, the Work-Based Learning program provides structured opportunities for students to apply what they learn in authentic workplace settings through internships, job shadowing, apprenticeships, and paid employment.

Together, these programs emphasize career readiness, professionalism, and personal responsibility while fostering strong connections between students, educators, and employers. By blending classroom instruction with on-the-job learning, Commerce City Schools equips students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in college, technical education, military service, or immediate entry into the workforce.

Commerce City Schools’ commitment to CTAE and Work-Based Learning ensures graduates are not only academically prepared, but also career-ready and positioned to make a positive impact in their community and beyond.

Jackson County School System (JCSS) invites you to participate in a community surveys; a key part of their Why Georgia Works Alignment Grant initiative. JCSS is excited to partner with the University of Georgia to conduct this survey in order to gather insights from business leaders, educators, parents and students to help evaluate the current Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) pathways. Your feedback will be a guide to identify gaps and exploring new opportunities that align with Georgia’s job market.

This is your chance to share thoughts on the programs currently available, suggest new opportunities and help identify potential gaps in the curriculum. The JCSS wants to hear from everyone invested in the future of their students and community. By taking a few minutes to participate, you’ll be contributing directly to a stronger, more relevant educational experience for Jackson County students.

Thank you for contributing to this community-driven effort!
