Dick Ren brings over three decades of experience to his role as the Director of Franchise Development at Ivy Kids. His journey in the franchise industry began in his mid-20s when he, along with his father, brother, and two other partners, ventured into the franchise restaurant business. Over the course of a decade, they successfully expanded their single-unit operation into a five-unit enterprise.
Seizing an opportunity to further scale, Dick invested in an area director business with the same Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chain. Serving as the operating partner, he and his partner grew the business from a single unit to an impressive 80 units, opening 68 new locations over a span of 12 years.
During this period, Dick’s responsibilities encompassed a wide range of functions, including franchise development, site selection, lease negotiation, design and construction management, as well as providing ongoing operational support.
After selling the company, Dick diversified his portfolio by investing in two other area director programs, this time in the fast-casual and full-service restaurant sectors. Following buyouts of both companies by their parent organizations, Dick transitioned to leading development for two growing automotive service companies for three years.
In May of 2023, Dick took on the role of Director of Franchise Development at Ivy Kids, bringing his extensive experience and leadership skills to a new industry focused on early childhood education.
