The Tree House, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen communities by reducing the occurrence and impact of child abuse through counseling, educating, supporting, and nurturing children and families in Northeast Georgia.

The Tree House began in 1996 when community members united and began working towards preventing child abuse. Together, they created a child-friendly agency that offered prevention programs, as well as a place for children to come when they disclosed abuse. The Tree House now sees hundreds of families each year and offers a variety of services to help children and families heal from child abuse.

Georgia Senator Frank Ginn

Senator Frank Ginn was elected to the Georgia Senate in 2010. Senator Ginn is a Republican representing the 47th District, which stretches across Barrow, Jackson, Clarke, and Madison Counties. Frank followed the family tradition and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering in 1985.

Following both of his parents’ career paths, he started working in the electric utility industry. He began as an engineer for the consumer owned cooperative Jackson
EMC. He left Jackson EMC as the Director of Member Services to learn more about natural gas and other utilities as the City Manager/Treasurer for the City of
Royston. Eventually, Senator Ginn migrated to the City of Sugar Hill in Gwinnett County to serve as their manager. In 2000, the citizens of Franklin County voted to change to the County Manager form of government. Frank was selected to serve as the first County Manager. He was employed with Franklin County up until he was sworn in.

Senator Ginn serves as Chair of the State and Local Governmental Operations Committee, the Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Government Operations, and as the Vice-Chairman on the Senate Committee on Rules. Additionally, he will serve on the Senate Committee on Transportation and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture and Natural Resources. He will also serve as Ex-Officio on the Senate Committees on Natural Resources and the Environment and Regulated Industries and Utilities.

Senator Ginn considers it a great honor to represent the Citizens in the 47th District and to serve the people of Georgia.

Andy Crawford is a career prosecutor who has litigated over a thousand cases in Barrow, Banks, and Jackson Counties. He has secured jury trial convictions for murder, special victims crimes, domestic violence, major thefts, and drug trafficking.

Andy is a graduate of Jackson County High School, the University of Georgia, and Mercer University. Upon graduating from law school, he returned to the area with his wife, Allison, who has worked in special education in the Jackson County School System for 13 years. They have three daughters who will attend Gum Springs Elementary School.

Andy has served on the staff of the Piedmont Drug and Mental Health Courts, chaired the Jackson County Child Fatality Review Board, was appointed Solicitor for Jefferson Municipal Court, coached mock trial at Jefferson High School, and spoken at numerous career days in the Barrow, Jackson, and Jefferson school systems. Recently, he was elected to serve as President of the Piedmont Bar Association for 2023.

The City of Jefferson, a 200 year old community, is located in Northeast Georgia about an hour north of Atlanta along Interstate 85. Jefferson has a population of 10,195 and is the county seat of Jackson County with a population of 61,257 (2015 U. S. Census Bureau Estimates).

Jefferson, the county seat of Jackson County, is named for President Thomas Jefferson. It is a picturesque community set among the gently rolling hills in the piedmont region of Northeast Georgia. The landscape is still dotted with small farms and lakes.
