The Drug Lady is an important team member for any business wishing to create or maintain a Drug Free Workplace. Our “Drug Lady” is powered by two amazing ladies- a mother-daughter team who have been working together for almost 30 years. Jacqui Derrick developed the original Drugs Don’t Work program in Georgia back in 1994 shortly after the Drug Free Workplace Act was signed into law. Since then, she’s helped hundreds of business owners across the southeast implement and maintain their Drug Free Workplace programs. You can ask anyone- she’s the Original Drug Lady. In 2003 she recognized the need for a dedicated drug testing facility in the Atlanta area to serve employers. We’ve been managing that facility ever since. Her daughter, Ashley, stood no chance. Ashley started helping Jacqui with office work and creating training programs for younger audiences as a teenager. The two became a staple in the industry, working together to help their clients navigate difficult situations, interpret results, assisting with policy creation and management, and educating teams on how drugs can affect a person as well as their livelihood and those around them. If you’ve got a question, chances are they’ve seen it and have the answer. And if you’ve got a story to tell, even better!

A woman owned and operated small business located in the Atlanta Metro Area specializing in creating and managing Drug-Free Workplace programs for employers. Earned his bachelor’s degree in sports medicine and then continued on to chiropractic school where he graduated with honors in 1999. Commerce High School’s Tigers field a Class A football team competing in GHSA Region 8-A. Established in 1909, the program boasts an all-time record of approximately 584–296–22 and plays home games at Ray Lamb Stadium. The Tigers have captured two Georgia state championships and secured seventeen region titles—testament to a program with strong traditions and success!

Commerce is located in northeastern Georgia about 65 miles northeast of Atlanta along I-85 and is the second largest city in Jackson County. The area was first founded as a community of settlers in 1818 and was later incorporated as the city of Harmony Grove in 1884. Because of the establishment of Harmony Grove Textile Mills in 1893, the area in a short time became a textile center and one of much trade. Therefore, the town name was changed to the city of Commerce in 1904 as a result of much commercial activity in the area.

Today Commerce is recognized statewide for its new businesses such as the SK Battery Company as well as numerous older establishments and for its excellent education system. With Commerce located just 20 minutes north of Athens along with UGA on US 441, the area is noted for its many shopping opportunities such as the Tanger Outlets as well as countless others. Numerous dining establishments in the area are available as well.

Commerce is a very welcoming community whether a person has just moved to the area or has lived in the city for most of their life.
