Founded in 2001 as a result of the efforts of the Sexual Assault Task Force, Piedmont Rape Crisis Center (PRCC) is a non-profit adult advocacy agency which serves Barrow and Jackson Counties. All program services are provided free to primary and secondary adult (ages 18+) victims of all forms of sexual violence. They provide a wide range of crisis intervention which encourage survivors to find their best path to healing; striving to serve all clients professionally and efficiently.
The staff and volunteers of PRCC respect the uniqueness of each survivor’s experience and path to healing. Consequently, they work from a holistic approach model to empower each survivor to discover the ongoing areas in which she/he needs help. They also realize that the effects of sexual assault are long lasting and ongoing. Many survivors come to them years after an assault, so the support is given whether an assault just occurred or occurred some time ago.
