Steve Olson with Miracle League of Arizona
The Miracle League of Arizona is a 501(c)3 non-profit located in Scottsdale providing baseball programming to over 300 children, teens and adults with special needs.
They play at a fully accessible baseball stadium, utilizing a rubberized turf for easy maneuverability of wheelchairs and other adaptive devices. They also have an adaptive playground, picnic area and batting cages which makes for a full day of fun at the ballpark. They do not charge a fee to be part of the Miracle League program. Uniforms, equipment, registration, insurances, and all other costs are waived for our participants as we realize our parents already are burdened with significant medical costs, transportation issues, etc.
The goal is for its players to have a safe, successful, and fun experience, at no cost.
Steve Olson left the Silicon Valley, and accompanying, successful 20+ years corporate executive position, for the Valley of the Sun in 2018. Having lost his wife to brain cancer in 2012, he never thought he’d find his smile again.
Today he is responsible for community outreach, development and fundraising efforts at the Miracle League of Arizona. There he regained his internal happiness pursuing, what he believes his true life’s passion, According to Steve, the Miracle League of Arizona provides the perfect combination of time with his two daughters, baseball & helping others.
Steve invites anyone who loves kids and/or baseball out to what his call the “Hidden gem of the Valley” to catch a game. There, he believes, you will witness some of the most inspirational and fearless athletes and be apart of a community like no other. “Everyone deserves the chance to play baseball.”
