Flat out wraps are a great tool for easy meals. Grill up some chicken. Chop it up and put it in the center of the wrap. Throw in some of your favorite veggies like: shredded romaine lettuce, peppers, tomatoes and onions. Cheese is an option. Now its time to wrap this meal up and eat.
5 Ways To Cut Calories From Your Next Slice of Pizza
Pizza is one of the main food groups we eat. There is no way we would ever want to live in a world that didn’t have pizza in it. But when you are trying to lose weight or get in shape pizza may not help you achieve your goals. So what to do? Never eat pizza again or find a way to make it work. We pick number 2. Here are 5 ways to cut the calories from your next slice of pizza.
- Go thin crust – sorry deep dish fans – but thin crust has less calories.
- Try whole wheat – this might be blasphemy – but give it a try – you might be pleasantly surprised
- Substitute veggies for meat – more veggies less meat saves a ton of calories and is healthier
- Slice it up – have your pizza joint cut your pizza into 16 slices instead of 8. The 2 slices you usually eat is now really only one slice.
- Dab the cheese – take a napkin and dab off the extra oil before you take a bite – this saves a handful of calories as well
Can You Pass This Simple Workout Intensity Test?
When you are exercising it is important to not over do it. This simple talk test helps you check to see if you are in the right work out intensity zone. If you don’t have a heart rate monitor you can just start talking aloud as you run or workout. You should be able to recite a nursery rhyme of speak pretty conversationally as you exercise. The Truth About Coconut Water
Coconut water products are popping up everywhere these days. Dr Fitness experienced fresh coconut water after a long run in Mexico – a guy took a chilled coconut out of a barrel and with a machete cut it open and Dr Fitness drank the water straight from the coconut. The Fat Guy is from Miami so he too is no stranger to the delicious tasting coconut water. Now is it really good for you – that is the question. Good news – it really is healthy. It is high in potassium so it is a good fluid replacement drink. Now is it worth the high price you pay for it – that is another question that only your wallet can answer.
Grilled Sausage Salad Recipe
Italian sausage is a spicy treat great once in a while – I’d avoid it for daily consumption. Dr Fitness goes with the soy sausage. But he’s weird that way. After you’ve grilled up your sausage put it aside for a bit. Now grill up some veggies like tomatoes, and onions – they cook quickly – so watch them. Now make your salad with spinach and all your favorite salad ingredients then toss in the cut up sausage and those grilled veggies and eat up.
Pasta and Zucchini Recipe
Whole wheat pasta is a fast and easy ingredient in a bunch of meals. You can then throw in a variety of other healthy ingredients to make a quick meal the whole family will eat. Today we talk about grilled zucchini with garlic, walnuts and raisins. First cook up the pasta and put it to the side. Cook up some thinly sliced zucchini with some garlic. Then add the walnuts and raisins. Then when all that is cooked serve it with the pasta.
