Steve Voorhees is the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of RockTenn, a leading manufacturer of packaging and merchandising displays. With annual revenues of $3 billion, the Company operates more than 90 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Argentina.
Steve brings unique perspective to his position. In this CFOradio broadcast, Steve discusses the CFO role as being one of both leading the numbers and mentoring the team. It’s no wonder; one of his primary past-times is starting first baseman for the Greater Atlanta Braves Men’s Senior Baseball League, so he has an ample arsenal of sports analogies, valuable on and off the field.
Steve’s career is somewhat untraditional. His career began in Operations Management and transitioned to becoming a CFO when RockTenn’s CEO asked him to take the position.
Listen as he discusses his “ACTIVE” approach to business…kind of the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs for the finance function.
