Allyson Eman has 20 years of marketing, sales and communications experience. In 2007, Allyson took on the role of Executive Director for the newly created Venture Atlanta annual conference. Allyson has worked with key business leaders from Metro Atlanta Chamber, Atlanta CEO Council and Technology Association of Georgia to build the premier venture capital conference in Georgia. The conference is now in its fifth year. Prior to joining Venture Atlanta, Allyson was the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for SouthStar Funding, a wholesale mortgage lender headquartered in Atlanta. Bill Ramsey/ China Business Consulting, LLC

Bill Ramsey, CEO of China Business Consulting, is a respected and valued senior operations executive providing global experience with an emphasis on China and Hong Kong markets. During his 31 years in the legal industry and 8 years in healthcare, he has contributed to operational success through his expertise in general business management, mergers and acquisitions, global operations, national and international office start-ups, and project management. He has also successfully led finance, human resources, marketing, technology, facilities, leasing and construction.

During his 21 year career with Troutman Sanders, he performed due diligence and planning that led to establishing offices in Hong Kong (1997), London (2001), Shanghai (2006), Washington, D.C. and Portland. Ironically, Bill lived in Japan in the early seventies and also traveled to Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand. He has been active in the Hong Kong Association of Atlanta since 1997 and became its president in 2007. He is also active in the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide and served on its Executive Committee since 2007.

In June of 2011, Mr. Ramsey retired from Troutman Sanders and founded China Business Consulting, LLC. CBC has focused on assisting small businesses determine whether a China strategy makes sense for them. They also work with their clients to implement their plan in an efficient and cost effective manner.

This week on Southern Hospitality, Chandrakant (C.K.) Patel, 2010 Chairman of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) and President of  BVM Holdings, joins Dana and Elizabeth in the studio to talk about the business of operating a hotel and the landscape of hotel ownership across the country.

The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) is a trade organization representing Asian American hotel owners in the hospitality industry. C.K. is one of the original members of AAHOA (created in 1989), and has served on the AAHOA Board of Directors for many years.AAHOA is THE voice of owners in the hospitality industry.  It is one of the industry’s fastest-growing organizations with more than 11,000 members owning more than 20,000 hotels with a total of $128 billion in property value.

At Write Choice Services and Write Here, Write Now, we believe that business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals have a book staring at them that begs to be written.  The book does not have to be long or involved; it does have to share solid information and provide insight. Today’s guest, Mike Dunham, is putting the finishing touches on his “book that begs to be written.”  Mike is a partner at Gibson, Deal, Fletcher and Dunham Law Offices.  He has extensive experience in landlord-tenant matters.  Drawing upon Georgia Legal Code and his own practice, Attorney Dunham has crafted an insightful book to help both landlords and tenants understand the laws and processes pertinent to rental property.  Our conversation will focus on the process of writing – how he identified his “book,” how he set about to write it, what the experience has been like, insights that he has for others.

Born and raised in a small town in Ohio, Jennifer Curry attended Ohio State University and received a degree in Womens’ Studies.  After graduation she started her career working in libraries.  It wasn’t until fifteen years later that she moved to Atlanta and began taking classes at Emory University.  There she earned her Masters in Public Health.  Along the way Jennifer also earned a Certificate in Aging from Boston University’s School of Social Work.

Though, in Jennifer’s words “it took a long time to get here”, she realizes that she was moved to serve seniors from an early age when a nursing home was built at the end of her small “dead-end” street, and she and her mother volunteered there.  Today, Jennifer is a Program Consultant for the Older Driver Safety Program in the Office of Injury Prevention, and part of the Georgia Department of Public Health.
