Beth Hermes (The Network Goddess and CCO of eIRIS Marketing) and Carol Reinlie (The Social Girl and CCO of Hot Biscuit Marketing) are on a mission to help you make the most of social media for your life and business. They joined me in the studio on Monday to answer the questions everyone is asking today about social media marketing.

How do you get people to read your posts?

What separates the social media winners from everyone else?

How does Google+ factor into the social media equation?

How are companies using social media to get customers and grow revenue?

How to keep social media posts timely & relevant?

Who uses Pinterest and why?

Where and when to post business and personal items on Facebook? (isn’t not as obvious as you think)

And lots more…

Yes – social media can be fun. There are just some key points you need to consider.  Carol and Beth shared strategies and examples of how to achieve your marketing goals, make friends, become known as an influencer, an expert and the go-to person for advice in your industry.

Let’s look at writing with passion and purpose and when we do write with passion and purpose, we might generate a solid manuscript that gets published. How, then, do we market it?  Today’s guests share their personal take on “practical” writing and marketing.

Jill Jepson is a writer, traveler, linguistic anthropologist, and college professor and describes herself as a writing and spirituality coach. Dr. Jepson empowers writers to fulfill their greatest artistic and professional potential through techniques that facilitate focus, clarity, creativity, and growth. Her approach is spiritual in the sense that she believes that the writer’s inner life and writing are interconnected. Jill’s book Writing as a Sacred Path: A Practical Guide to Writing with Passion and Purpose is one of the very few books that Write Here, Write Now host, Dr. Tim Morrison, turns to again and again for guidance and encouragement in his own writing and journey.  Tim has also had the good fortune of experiencing coaching sessions with Jill.

Renea Winchester wrote a book, got it published, won a writing award, went on a book tour and discovered something unsettling: the number of talented authors whose basements are filled with unsold books.  That led Renea to write  Stress-free Marketing: Practical Advice for the Newly Published Author.

Don Johnson’s path to his position at Brentwood Hospice as the Spiritual Care Coordinator has been an eclectic one. After beginning his training for the Priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church, he switched directions.  He became a Methodist Minister,  pastoring five different United Methodist Churches.  Though he loved  being a pastor, Don felt a call to work in an area that was more intimate.  In addition to working the streets of Dallas’ inner city, he also started working with the terminally ill.  Today, Don works to provide pastoral care to those dealing with imminently terminal illnesses. If you would like to contact Don or Brentwood hospice, call 877-388-2304 or visit www.brentwoodhospice.com.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Vicka Brown was destined to work with Seniors from an early age.  Her mother worked in healthcare with Seniors, and Vicka worked along side her as a youth.  In 1998, Vicka moved to Atlanta, and found a job with Cypress Health Group, a premier post-acute care and senior housing management company.  Though she went on hiatus twice, she kept coming back to Cypress.  Though she has held a number of positions during her tenure with Cypress, today she is the Director of Public Relations at Woodstock Nursing & Rehabilitation, and adores her job.  She is thrilled with the very capable staff, and loves the interaction she has with both current and prospective residents.

Vicka tells us that Woodstock Nursing & Rehabilitation is a family-oriented community in the heart of downtown Woodstock.  They pride themselves on serving families in a friendly and open environment, maintaining relationships with families over a period of years.  Stop by for a tour at 105 Arnold Mill Road in Woodstock.  Or visit them on the web at www.cypresshealthgroup.com, or call them at 770-926-0016.

We want to thank Griswold Special Care for sponsoring today’s show.  Griswold Special Care has been a preferred provider of high quality, affordable in-home senior care in Dallas and Atlanta for 20 years.

David Miska, director of Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Marietta is a firm believer in striving for excellence. Do not just settle for simply knowing what you know and doing what you do. Develop good work ethics and be an influence on others instead of being a leech. Don’t be contented of just delivering what is expected of you; take it to the next step. And once you’ve exceeded expectations, go back and review where you can course-correct next time. Share your experiences. Do not be embarrassed by your failures but in turn mentor others so they do not make the same mistakes.
