On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy closed the show with personal safety expert Ingo Weigel author of the book
Self Defense for Modern Times. He teaches the Revat Fitness technique. He shared some of his best self defense tips for women or the Fat Guy. Some people think that women need different self defense techniques than men – Ingo disagrees. Ingo thinks that surviving crime requires more mental toughness than physical abilities. Size, weight, conditioning and upper body strength don’t make the difference. Ingo says that lady like self defense and anti-crime gadgets offer unrealistic guarantees. His tips were great. Number 1 – never go to the floor or ground to fight back. Number 2 – never start wrestling or grappling with your attacker. Number 3 – target groin, eyes throat. Remember you only have a couple of seconds to react and your attacker is probably stronger than you so be proactive, look the guy in the eyes and take charge once you know a confrontation is inevitable.
