BRX Pro Tip: 3 Things to Automate

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with BRX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, so many new approaches, tools, resources available as our enterprise continues to grow and seek out new markets. You shouldn’t necessarily jump on every one. But you have in mind three specific things to automate right now to grow your business.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:26] Absolutely. I think that if you automate the right things, then you’re really going to have a lot easier time down the road. One of the first things that I would try to automate in your life is your follow ups. Anybody that you’ve kind of come in contact with that you want to stay in contact with, I would figure out some way to have some automation to follow up a few more times, take a few more swings at that prospect down the road. It may not be a cadence of every day, but it should be a cadence of, you know, every month, or every quarter, every six months.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:02] Because, you know, just reminding those folks that you’ve dealt with in the past that you still exist, you’re still there serving people definitely helps. And you will definitely benefit from that if you can do that relentlessly, and especially in an automated manner. And that might be a drip newsletter or a tip sequence. But just some way that they can see your name and brand regularly is going to help you down the road. And you’ll be able to nurture all those relationships instead of letting them kind of die on the vine.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:32] Another thing that I would automate is your learning. I think it’s important to subscribe to bloggers, author, speakers that you like, subscribe to their newsletters to keep learning from the people you respect the most. So, I think that if you can automate some of your learning, that that definitely pays dividends.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:52] And, finally, the last thing that I think you should automate is paying yourself. I think that it’s important to put money aside for yourself every week, month, day, whatever works for you in just kind of a relentless manner. And that’ll help you kind of build that wealth that you’re trying to build. And it’ll keep you kind of financially afloat no matter what’s happening in your business or the economy or whatever, as long as you’re just consistently making sure that you’re saving some money, putting it aside, whether it’s to grow your business or just to kind of grow your family finances. I think that being relentless with that is a must do, not a nice thing to be doing. You should be doing it relentlessly.

ABOUT HOPE NOBLE

Senior Marketing Director
Catalina Springs Memory Care
Cell: (520)609-7369

“I have been in the Senior Living industry for going on my 10th year this year.

I got started right out of college, sort of by accident. A family friend was volunteering in the dementia unit at a local Assisted Living, and they had an opening for an Activities Assistant which she thought I would be great at.  I applied, was hired and the rest is history.

I have a passion for working with residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s, as through my high school years, my grandmother was a primary caregiver for her father, my 94-year-old great-grandfather who was suffering with dementia.  That was my first close experience with the disease, but I have since had other family members diagnosed.

Through my work, and in my volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Association through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’ve become even more passionate about educating people on the disease and stripping away the fear that so many have.

I am now the Marketing Director at Catalina Springs Memory Care, where we specialize in care for seniors with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and specifically work to bring joy and purpose to their lives through our SPARK programming.”

BRX Pro Tip: Document Key Systems

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, let’s talk a little bit about documenting key systems.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:10] Yeah. I think this is super important, especially if you’re getting ready to hire someone, whether it’s your first teammate or your tenth teammate. Before you make that hire or before you go about the process of hiring someone, document some of those foundational systems. Get those systems super tight that you can hand them to somebody and they understand what you’re trying to accomplish. They understand what the finished job looks like. They understand all the steps that are involved in getting that done.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:38] And when you have that kind of collection of systems, now, you can hire someone and know that they can get going and start making an impact pretty much immediately. I think that’s so important when you’re delegating, especially for the first time, to create these clear systems that build the solid foundation so that that hire can be successful and get some quick wins and to help you grow your business

BRX Pro Tip: Success Story: Managed IT Services

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. For today’s topic for our Success Story series, Lee, let’s talk about managed IT services.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:14] Yeah. There was a managed IT services that was having the typical challenges of, you know, meeting new people that were important to them and really giving the love that they wanted to give to their existing clients. Another part of their challenge was that, because of the pandemic, they weren’t able to attend some of these in-person events and networking meetings that they used to go to where they, you know, kind of met people and networked with people and learned about new opportunities.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:45] So, by creating a show for them to spotlight existing clients, prospective clients, and really the whole ecosystem that they were serving, it enabled them to become that voice of business in that niche. And then, it gave them a tool to meet strangers in an elegant and non-salesy way. It gave them a way to create a mechanism that allowed them to kind of love on and support and celebrate the work of their existing clients. And to serve that whole ecosystem by spotlighting the power partners or referral partners and the associations that they were part of.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:23] It really separated them from all their competition. It showed them as an indispensable cog in the machine there. They created a ton of thought leadership content. They created a ton of social media engagement. It really kind of allowed them to differentiate themselves and position themselves as the premium go-to service provider in their space.

BRX Pro Tip: SOPs are Important

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, we’ve talked a lot recently about standard operating procedures, systems, processes. And I’d like to think they were beginning to eat a little bit of our own cooking. But, yeah, let’s hit it again for a minute. Why are SOPs so important?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:23] Well, they’re important because you have to replace yourself at some point. You can’t be doing all the work yourself. That’s not going to grow your business. So, if you want to replace yourself, you better have some sort of manual or procedure in order to teach someone else how to do some of the tasks that you’re doing. So, if you want to grow and you want to replace yourself, you have to have some processes documented in order to do that.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:51] And, you know, it goes back to that E-Myth book by Michael Gerber, it probably goes back farther than him. But if you do something more than twice in our world, we create a standard operating procedure for it so that someone else can do it if we’re not there and when we’re not there. And part of when you’re building that standard operating procedure, it has to be what the finished job looks like. So, you have to include that when you’re kind of writing this up. And if you do that right, you can leverage your time with virtual assistants, with interns, with other people, with partners, with other people to help your business really flourish.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:33] Because, you know, like Michael Gerber says, you eventually want to work on your business, not in your business. So, document all of this stuff to the best of your ability. And it’s not just the checklist of what those tasks are. It’s what the finished job looks like at the end. What is your expectation of what the finished job looks like? If you can’t communicate that clearly, then keep writing that procedure because you’re not done yet.
