Bernie Burgener is the executive director of the Greenhouse Accelerator. The objective of this non-profit is to help create sustainable jobs through the support of early-stage green startups. Early in his career Bernie helped fund and grow businesses in various countries and industries in South America in a financial as well as a consulting function, working for a private investment company out of Lima, Peru. He then worked for over twenty years with a water treatment company in Atlanta, leading its international business development, including strategic planning, identifying, negotiating and executing acquisitions, and managing key raw material contracts. Bernie is an economist by education and a sustainability consultant by avocation.

Sam Agarwal is an Innovative Applications Developer. Sam is the founder and CEO of AppZoro Technologies, Inc. – an experienced team of full-stack mobile app developers and web designers. Dr. Bill Bogner is the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs and an Associate Professor in the Department of Managerial Sciences at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. His research primarily focuses on the dynamics of industry competition and in particular seeks to explain the past and current competitive postures of firms, groups of firms, and whole industries. Increasingly Dr. Bogner’s research has focused on global industries and the technological trajectories that drive industry evolution. He has published in leading journals including Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, International Management, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice Long Range Planning and Advances in Strategic Management. In addition, he has made numerous presentations at the annual meetings of the Academy of Management, the Academy of International Business, and the Strategic Management Society, as well as at the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management in Brussels. Several of his articles have appeared as book chapters and in proceedings publications. He has published two books on the pharmaceutical industry. At Georgia State University Dr. Bogner teaches courses on Strategic management in the MBA, PMBA, EMBA and PhD programs. He has also taught on the Masters level in International Business. In addition to service as the Assistant Dean for of the J. Mack Robinson College’s over 6000 Undergraduate degree students, he currently is very active on the University level in assessment, accreditation and continual improvement of programs on the graduate and undergraduate level. He has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Management Studies, and the Journal of Management, as Treasurer of the Business Policy and Strategy Division of the Academy of Management, and as the Chief Investment Officer and Treasurer of the Strategy Research Foundation. Dr. Bogner is also an attorney and is licensed to practice law by the state of Illinois.

Taz Lake’s passion is making websites better. When his career began over two decades ago, he relied on a passion for web technologies to tear him away from medicine and science. Today, through Brightmill, he provides comprehensive health checks to measure and improve on-site web experience, leading to better outcomes from website investments. His company has provided website analysis and improvement solutions in multiple industries to companies of all sizes. Mr. Lake has also served in various technical and leadership roles in Fortune 500 companies, digital agencies and consultancies. Nathaniel Smith serves as Founder and Chief Equity Officer (CEqO)/CEO of the Partnership for Southern Equity. Empowered by the unified vision and voices realized through its regional engagement efforts, PSE pushes for policies and actions that promote balanced growth and inclusive prosperity in metropolitan Atlanta and beyond. Among PSEs notable accomplishments where the creation the American Souths first equity mapping and framing tool the Metro Atlanta Equity Atlas (MAEA); The Atlanta Regional Commissions Equitable Target Areas (ETA) mapping index to promote and measure equitable land-use planning efforts; supporting the creation of the nations first Equitable Development Plan for a large scale neighborhood transformation project The Atlanta Beltline; convening the inaugural Equity Atlanta Forum on the equitable utilization of Federal Stimulus Funding in metro Atlanta as well as its supporting document, co-written by PolicyLink, Recovering Stronger: Building an Inclusive Metro Atlanta Economy. Nathaniel was designated a Notable Georgian by Georgia Trend Magazine in 2016 and 2017. Tris Sicignano is a New Orleans native,who began her career in television at the age of 16 working for the local PBS station. Tris has worked for several major cable networks during her career. She has worked both behind the scenes and in front of the camera in the film and entertainment industry. After taking a break from the industry to pursue other career goals, Tris has returned to her original career choice to co-found Surge Television.

Jan Jones joined the PBD team in 2007 and brings over seventeen years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry with a focus in business development, solution selling, project management and client relationship management. Jan heads PBD’s non-asset freight brokerage division, Freight Scouts, where she oversees strategic business growth and daily operations.

Prior to launching Freight Scouts in 2016, Jan served as Vice President of Sales for PBD where she was responsible for developing new channels of revenue within PBD’s focused markets of non-profits, associations and corporations and has successfully converted and welcomed over 25 new client programs to the PBD family of clients.

During her career at PBD, she has led teams and worked independently to develop partnerships that have helped PBD grow its client base and expand its service offerings. Specifically, Jan initiated a new client program that was the foothold for PBD’s printing and mailing services offering, PBD Ink.

Sarah Morrison, PT, MBA, MHA, is president and CEO of Shepherd Center. Since 1984, Morrison has served in various leadership roles at Shepherd Center, including vice president of clinical services, director of the Spinal Cord Injury Program, director of the medical/surgical and ICU programs, manager of the spinal cord injury day program, a physical therapy supervisor and a physical therapist.

Morrison is well known in the healthcare community, having written more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, presented more than 40 invited lectures to professional organizations and actively participated in eight funded research studies. In 2013, Morrison received the award for Clinical Excellence in Neurology from the Neurological Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Morrison’s career includes leadership roles as a surveyor of external rehabilitation hospitals for the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and chair of the APTA Special Interest Group for Spinal Cord Injury.

Morrison earned her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Miami, where she graduated summa cum laude. She received master’s degrees in healthcare and business administration from Georgia State University, where she received the Max G. Holland scholarship for the highest grade point average in the graduate business program.

Morrison lives in Atlanta with her husband, Jeff, a visiting instructor at Emory University. Their son, Michael, lives in Houston, Texas, and works for Cigna Healthcare in process management. Sharon Macaluso is an Area Director for The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in metro-Atlanta. Sharon has been providing consulting and training services for Georgia businesses through the UGA SBDC since 1994, and has consulted with over 2000 entrepreneurs and business owners. Her areas of specialization are in strategic planning, marketing and sales, customer service, business plans, and leadership development. Sharon comes from a corporate, as well as, entrepreneurial background. She held various management, marketing, training and customer service positions with Eastern Airlines and with IBM. She grew up in a family-owned business, working for her father and grandfather in a hosiery manufacturing plant in North Carolina, and she has run a small real estate business. Sharon holds a Master’s of Business Administration Degree with an emphasis in Marketing and has written several articles and publications on marketing and marketing research, brand development, customer service, leadership and strategic planning. She also holds a special interest in women-owned businesses and has led development of several conferences and other initiatives for female entrepreneurs, including GWEN (Georgia Women Entrepreneur Network) Conferences and annual Woman-Owned Business Expos.

Since 1999, Casey Sanders has provided leadership to men throughout the Atlanta area in a discipling “1 on 1” relationship via Jesus Spoken Here Ministries. In the mid-nineties as a Pharmaceutical Sales Executive, Casey discovered his identity in Christ and began to share the joy that comes from walking in intimacy with Jesus. Leaving a paycheck from the corporate world to walk by faith in discipleship ministry has been the most fulfilling thing he and his wife, Christi have ever done. They are the the very blessed parents of of 3 amazing sons; Travis (aka “Teddy”), Troy, and T.J. Jackie Hutter has been creating business value from IP for companies of all sizes at The Hutter Group since 2008. During this time, and probably not coincidentally, Jackie has been named by her peers as a top global IP Strategist. Prior to going out on her own, she was a senior IP lawyer at Georgia Pacific and a shareholder at an Atlanta IP law firm. She started her non-legal career as a research scientist at an innovative hair and skin care company. Bryan Miles is CEO & Co-founder of BELAY. Bryan (alongside his wife, Shannon) lead a US-based virtual solutions company that has over 550 people on payroll, all working from home, virtually. Prior to starting BELAY, Bryan worked for companies in the tech and construction industries. Bryan obtained his B.A. in Business from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, OH, which is also where he met his wife, Shannon, who also co-founded BELAY.
