Steve Shamatta is the owner and operator of Creatwood Tavern, Red Door Tavern and Whitehall Tavern. With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Steve is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of his establishments with duties ranging from hiring new talent to bartending and everything in between.
As a longtime Atlanta resident, Steve first joined the Buckhead bar scene in 1998 as a bartender after leaving his job in the corporate world. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a love for bars, Steve combined his passions with the opening of Red Door Tavern in 2004, which has served as a Buckhead staple for the past 15 years. Since then, Steve has opened Whitehall Tavern in 2011 and Creatwood Tavern in 2014.
Steve is an avid supporter of the James Esker Foundation and works alongside the organization to raise money for melanoma cancer research. In his free time, Steve, a Smyrna resident, enjoys staying active with his Italian Mastiff, Teddy Brewski, and cheering on the Georgia Southern Eagles.
