Jarrod “JJ” Johnson – After spending much of his young adult life in the military and as a first responder, Jarrod “JJ” Johnson is no stranger to hard work. In fact, at the age of 39, Johnson has already had his fair share of experiences that have led him on the path to successful business ownership.
From his time serving in the Marine Corps to his 11-year career patrolling the streets of Houston as a police officer, Johnson has always had a passion for helping others. But when his wife accepted a new job in Rome, Georgia, Johnson decided to leave his career as a police officer behind to start a new life in the South. It was there that he made a realization: as someone who has always been dedicated to an active lifestyle—in both the military and as a police officer–he was surprised to find that there were no quick and healthy food options. Johnson began researching franchise opportunities and decided to invest in the global smoothie franchise, Smoothie King.
In October 2016, Johnson opened his first Smoothie King location, and he credits his experience in the Marine Corps and as a police officer for making the transition from veteran to franchisee a seamless one. Find out more about Smoothie King on their website, and follow them on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
