Dr. Flavio Villanustre is Vice President of Technology for LexisNexis® Risk Solutions and leads the open source HPCC Systems® platform initiative, which is focused on expanding the community gathering around the HPCC Systems’ Big Data platform. Flavio’s expertise covers a broad range of subjects, including infrastructure, information security, information technology, data analytics, machine learning and more. He has been involved with the open source community for more than two decades, founding the first Linux users’ group in Buenos Aires in 1994.
Flavio was recently named Distinguished Technologist of the Year for successfully advancing LexisNexis Risk Solutions’ reputation as a leading innovator in big data and analytics, promoting data for good strategies by leveraging the company’s open source HPCC Systems and building strong relationships with colleges and universities to promote an exchange of ideas, technology and talent. She’s co-leader of the IBM Women in Security Excelling (WISE) organization, has earned the IBM Forward Thinker Award and IBM Global Best Database Marketing Practice Award, and has been published in the Journal of Competitive Intelligence.
