Carol H. Williams is Owner, President, CEO & Chief Creative Officer of Carol H Williams Advertising. An industry-recognized senior executive with demonstrated year-after-year success achieving revenue and business growth for her clients, Carol has been at the helm of the company she founded since 1986.
She has led and motivated more than 5,000 employees over a 30-year career and has exceeded $30 million in revenue during high-performance and growth periods. She leads a highly diverse and skilled staff that has produced award-winning advertising and marketing campaigns for many Fortune 500 companies, including General Motors, General Mills, Kraft, Gilead Sciences, HP, Allstate Insurance, Procter & Gamble, the U.S. Army, The Walt Disney Company, Nationwide Insurance, Marriott, US 2020Census, and many others.
Carol started her career at Leo Burnett Company in Chicago and quickly earned a position as their first African American Female Creative Director and Vice President. After 13 years at Leo Burnett, she served two years as Senior Vice President, Creative Director at Foote, Cone & Belding in San Francisco.
Carol has received numerous professional honors and community awards during her career. Most notably, in 2008, she was selected State of California’s Woman of the Year; in 2017, she was inducted into the American Advertising Federation’s Advertising Hall of Fame and is its first African-American female Creative Director, she also received its David Bell Award Recipient for Industry Service, an honor bestowed to only exceptional individuals that have changed the industry for the better.
In 2020, Carol will be recognized by the NY Women in Communications Matrix Awards. Passionate about community service, Carol has used her talent and resources to help dozens of philanthropic endeavors, including the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, the Congressional Black Caucus, NAACP, U.S. Dream Academy, National Newspaper Publishers Association, and numerous local community organizations.
