Marilyn Margolis, CEO of Emory Johns Creek Hospital, began her career at Emory Healthcare more than 35 years ago at Emory University hospital as a staff nurse in CCU. After caring for patients at the bedside for 15 years, she went to the Emergency Department as the Unit Director and began a career in leadership roles at EHC that included Director of nursing for emergency services and neurosciences, and Nursing Director for Operations. Marilyn has extensive experience leading quality initiative teams throughout the Emory Healthcare system in areas such as Emergency Services and ICU at Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown. She has also worked with teams to develop operational changes with patient flow and transfer services. Marilyn has been a champion for patient and family centered care and has worked with patient family advisors to institute change with our patients and family input. In March 2011, she was named interim Chief Nursing Officer of Emory Johns Creek Hospital before being named permanent CNO in August 2011. In April 2013, Marilyn was promoted to CNO and Vice President of Operations. On September 1, 2014, she was named interim Chief Executive Officer before being named permanent CEO in January 2015.
Notably, Marilyn is the recipient of the Nursing Management’s Visionary leader award in 2007 and the Georgia Hospital Association’s 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award. Marilyn received a master in nursing administration from the Nell Hodgson Woodruff Emory University School of Nursing. She also has done post graduate work at Harvard Business School and the Woodruff Leadership Academy. She is the newly elected Chair of the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce for 2017-2018, and is an active Board Member of the Johns Creek Advantage and North Fulton Community Charities. Dr. Adedapo Odetoyinbo has been with Emory’s Hospital Medicine Division since 2006. He graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1990 and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Lincoln Medical Center in Bronx, NY.
Since joining Emory he has served as Associate Chief Medical Officer at Emory Eastside Medical Center, Medical Director of Care Coordination, ACU Medical Director and currently Chief Medical officer at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
Dr Odetoyinbo was awarded Emory Hospital Medicine’s Director’s award for excellence in 2009 and 2010. He led an initiative in 2009 to sensitize the Medical Staff to the methodology and potential impact of the HCAHPS survey. In 2010 he championed the hospital-wide implementation of Structured Interdisciplinary Bedside Rounds (SIBR) at EJCH. He has led several projects on Revenue Integrity, Length of Stay reduction, Discharge Process Efficiency, Patient Safety and Physician Communication.
Dr Odetoyinbo received Emory University’s Department of Medicine Outstanding Clinician Award in 2012.
