Pat Williams and Wayne Myers are interviewed on this inaugural episode of Disruptive Healthcare to discuss the Health IT Summit.
Pat Williams/Founder, Health IT Summit
Pat, widely recognized as a distinguished business leader, has extensive experience working with senior leaders from some of the nation’s largest corporations. She is a leader in driving growth in the Health Information Technology industry in Georgia and is the recipient of the 2011 Phoenix Community Award presented by the Metro Atlanta Chamber for her leadership in this area. She is Chair Emeritus of the Health IT Leadership Summit–an event, founded by the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Metro Atlanta Chamber and TAG Health.
Pat is President of McKenzie Daniels & Associates, LLC, a boutique, professional services consulting firm. Pat’s experience includes leadership roles with AT&T and the Bell system in the healthcare and lodging sectors and with the professional services firm, Thompson DBM, where she created and launched a delivery model that became the national standard for the company’s premier division. She was also a key member of the beta team that led the national conversion from paper to an electronic delivery model and was designated as a company spokesperson to champion the initiative.
She is Board Chair for the Technology Association of GA (TAG) Health Society, a member of the TAG Government Relations Task Force and served two years on the TAG Board of Directors. She is on the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s Bioscience Leadership Council, the Board of Advisors for Clearwave, Inc., Advisory Board for GA State University Robinson College of Business’ Institute of Health Administration, Gwinnett Technical College’s Health IT Advisory Board and the Advisory Board for the Atlanta Chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA).
Earlier Pat served two years on the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce’s Regional Education Policy Committee, the Board of Advisors and the Advisory Committee for the Career and Technology Education.
Pat is a native of Georgia and graduated from Georgia Southern University. She holds a B.S. in Education and a M.Ed. in Psychometry. She has two daughters and four granddaughters.
Wayne Myers/Chair, Health IT Summit
Wayne Myers serves as Chief Operating Officer for Karna, LLC overseeing execution of the company’s federal government work, including CDC. He has over twenty years of experience in the strategic planning, development, delivery, and operations of solutions for healthcare and public health organizations. Wayne’s broad experience in his career span many technologies and IT disciplines including work with HIEs, EHRs, PHRs, a multi-terabyte health research data warehouse, and a multi-state public health biosurveillance system. He serves on the Board of Directors for TAG Health and is this year’s 2012 HIT Leadership Summit Chair.
Wayne has an MBA from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Iowa State University.
