putting your car seat in safely is critical to keeping your child safe when you drive. The Fat Guy could never do this right so he went to the fire station and the nice firemen helped him. Here are some basic rules but each state has their own laws regarding child safety car seats.
- Infants 0-1 years old and are under 20 pounds should be in rear facing car seats in the back seat
- Toddlers 1 and older who are over 20 pounds can be in forward facing car seats
- Older kids then move to a booster seat up until they are 8 years old
- Kids 8 and older will want to move to the front seat – but fight that urge. You want to avoid your kids controlling the radio as long as possible
