Studies say that their is a better chance for you to lose weight if you keep track of the amount of food (calories) you consume. By writing down what and when you are eating you have a greater awareness of how much and why you eat. Write things down as you eat and drink them rather than waiting until the end of the day and trying to remember – because invariably you will forget that handful of candy at your friends desk or that bite of hamburger your kid didn’t finish. And beware – restaurant calories are much higher for the same foods as home cooked meals because restaurants love to use a lot of butter in their dishes which adds lots of extra calories that you wouldn’t have at home.
