On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on nutrition and human behavior expert Randy Karp joined us. He talked all about how we are totally misinformed about food. For example he says cooking with unstable vegetable oils is bad for you. Instead cook in high heat with extra virgin coconut oil. And be careful with your olive oil. Most olive oils are devoid of health benefits, especially when heated. When asked if he could only eat one food he said it would be avocado. Regarding fish he said that the pro’s of eating fish are that they eat algae which is good for you but the cons are that they also live in water that has toxins. So choose your fish wisely. On his website he has lots of information about healthy eating and healthy foods. He produces his own line of extra virgin olive oil which he makes in very small quantities to ensure quality.
