Aphasia seems to be one of those conditions that is not widely recognized unless it is something that a loved one is facing. June is National Aphasia Awareness Month, and Eugeria! Radio wanted to highlight this condition, and introduce you to some experts that can provide both education and assistance for a loved one suffering from Aphasia.
Joining us on the show today is repeat guest, Prasant Desai, Founder and President of Ability Rehab. Prasant earned a business degree at Southern Miss, then went on to earn his Masters in Public Health. When he moved to Atlanta about 4 years ago, he conceived of the idea for Ability Rehab, and now offers a full range of outpatient services, including Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies. They also provide on-site treatment fo both Assisted Living Communities and Adult Day Care Centers.
Joining Prasant on the show today is his Manager of Speech Pathology, Heidi Lipman. Heidi started her education at the University of Georgia, earning an undergraduate degree in Communications. At her father’s urging, Heidi went on to Georgia State University, earning her Masters in Speeh Pathology. In addition to her work with Ability Rehab, Heidi is also the Founder and President of Brain Masters. Brain Masters brings a preventative component to cognitive decline.
