Meet Magi Kapllani, a native of Albania, and the founder of the Staten Island-based DEA Music and Art who will discuss how her program of teaching children music and art created the opportunity to franchise her brand.
DEA Music and Art currently has three Staten Island locations (Rosebank, Willowbrook, and Tottenville) and is targeting franchising growth along the east coast primarily in New York and New Jersey. Kapllani’s parents are well-known, classically trainedmusicians in Albania, and established a popular music school and center for culture in the area, named DEA Center of the Arts.
In 1999, Kapllani came to the U.S. to attend the piano performance master’s program at the University of Illinois, and performed all over Chicago. After moving to New York City, Kapllani (2003) decided to start her own school, called DEA Music and Art, to meet the demand from parents who were seeking high-quality music and art education.
A school where children could learn to build self-confidence through the creativity of music and art. DEA Music and Art studios are run by musicians and artists who have dedicated their lives to performing and teaching.
The children are taught these life enhancing skills in both one-on-one and group lessons. Every student benefit from tailor-made music and art instruction that is designed to meet the child’s specific goals and aspirations. To date, DEA Music and Art has performed at Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall. In today’s COVID-19 climate, the brand is offering virtual classes enrolling students from all over the country.
