Brian VanHook’s passion for home care began 10 years ago when a close family member was involved in a near-death accident. At the time, Brian was working as a Business Relationship Manager in the banking industry, and quickly realized the need for a quality home care agency in the Raleigh-Durham area. Brian started Perpetual Home Care to fill the void. Perpetual Home Care continues to provide a high standard of service, ensuring loved-ones receive the best possible care.
It was through his experience with Perpetual Home Care that Brian saw a gap in the home care industry that needed to be filled. While some people are eager to hire an agency, paying a premium for in-home care is not an option for everyone. Similarly, finding a caregiver independently can be a tremendous burden. Having someone come into your home is very personal and requires trust. Most caregivers carry a certain skill-set and experience level, but Brian found that the key to accomplishing trust was compatibility. Brian’s solution was to develop Home Care Assist, an online platform to match those needing care with experienced, qualified, and vetted caregivers, with an emphasis on mutual compatibility.
Home Care Assist screens each registered caregiver with thorough background checks — much like an agency — but the care seeker remains in control of their search. Brian truly believes that Home Care Assist provides both cost savings and peace-of-mind for those needing trusted in-home care.
