Ken Jacobs, ACC, CPC, a certified coach and experienced consultant and trainer, is the principal of Jacobs Consulting & Executive Coaching. For more than 10 years, he has helped senior leaders, managers, and executive managers in the public relations, communications, advertising, and marketing fields achieve and surpass their goals by becoming more inspired and inspiring leaders. His firm has helped communications agencies grow and manage business, improve client service and relationships, and enhance staff performance, communications and leadership skills. It does so via consulting and training. Jacobs holds Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credentials from the International Coach Federation (ICF), and is accredited as a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), Energy Leadership Index (ELI) Master Practitioner and a COR.E Leadership Dynamics Specialist by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). Prior to launching his companies, Jacobs spent 25 years in management and leadership positions with a number of public relations agencies, including Ogilvy & Mather PR; Ogilvy, Adams & Rinehart; Marina Maher Communications; and Maloney & Fox. At each of these firms, Ken served on senior management and leadership committees responsible for business growth, professional development, training, morale, recruitment, and retention. While at Marina Maher Communications, Jacobs founded and led “MMC Masters,” the agency’s training program, which was cited for excellence by PR industry magazine The Holmes Report. In addition to his work with clients, Jacobs shares his knowledge through “Taking The Lead,” his monthly leadership column for the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Public Relations Strategies & Tactics. He has also written on leadership development, executive coaching and agency management for its predecessor publications, Public Relations Tactics, The Public Relations Strategist and PR News. He is a Senior Counselor to and the leadership coach for Prosper Group, which advises communications agencies, and is an Alliance Partner of Trilogy Partners. Jacobs is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), and in 2017 served on the Board of ICF-NJ as Secretary/Director of Communications. He serves on the Mentoring Committee of PRSA’s New York chapter, is an active member of PRSA Counselors Academy, and is on the board of PRSA’s New Jersey chapter where he leads its Senior Professionals Group. He is the recipient of the chapter’s 2014 Pyramid Award for Chapter Service. Jacobs graduated with honors from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and College of Visual and Performing Arts, with a dual B.S. in public relations and speech communications.
