Roger Manis is a retired logistics executive, cattle farmer, and real estate investor. Manis spent most of his life in the freight transportation and trucking industries. In 1994, he and his wife Diane started Scott Logistics Corp. in Rome, and over 25 years built it into a business that was generating about $175 million per year in gross revenue when they sold it earlier this year.
Born in raised in northwest Georgia, Manis spent his childhood in Subligna and his teen years in Armuchee. He is a graduate of Darlington High School and the University of Georgia.
Roger and Diane have supported a variety of charitable causes over the years. They provided title sponsorship for the Scott Logistics Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge to benefit the Sexual Assault Center. They have been involved with the Coosa River Basin Initiative, and Relay for Life. In 2015, they donated $25,000 to the Floyd County Police Department for the purchase of 62 body cameras for their officers.

In 1996, Jimmy obtained the prestigious CCIM designation, which is one of the most recognized and coveted designations in the field of commercial real estate. The CCIM’s rigorous course work and portfolio requirements demonstrate the designees as leaders in the field of commercial real estate.
