Top of Georgia is an economic development initiative that serves as a nonprofit fundraising arm to enhance the marketing efforts of the publicly funded Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority (NWGAJDA). We serve as a way for private individuals or companies to contribute to the economic well-being of the greater Northwest Georgia area including Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade and Walker counties.
In only his sixth two-year term as state senator representing the 53rd district, Senator Jeff Mullis is proving to be one of Georgia’s most important political leaders. Sen. Mullis is currently the chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, chairman of the Transportation Subcommittee of Senate Appropriations, Secretary of Rules, and a member of Banking & Financial Institutions and Economic Development. He is also a member of the influential “Committee on Assignments.”
Senator Mullis was first elected to the State Senate in 2000. He is from Chickamauga, and currently serves as an economic developer in northwest Georgia. He is married to Teresa Nichols of Dade County and has three children. He is also a member of the Chickamauga First Baptist Church.

Sen. Mullis has been recognized by Georgia Trend magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Georgia for three consecutive years for his work on transportation and illegal immigration issues. Also, James Magazine has listed Senator Mullis as one of the Most Influential Political Leaders in Georgia for six consecutive years. He has also been the recipient of several awards in recent years, including: the Governor Zell Miller Public Policy Leadership Award from the GEDA, the GMA “Champion of Georgia Cities” award three times, the ACCG “Legislative Service Award” four times; and the Legislator of the Year award for his dedication to the Georgia Fire Service. Sen. Mullis also served as Vice Chair of the State of Georgia’s John McCain for President Committee.
