Liz is passionate about the Tucson community and engaged in creating opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation as the CEO of Startup Tucson and TENWEST. Liz has more than seven years of experience in non-profit organizational management and believes in building strong programs focused around the needs of Tucson businesses and entrepreneurs to ensure that the organization grows and delivers on its mission to help Tucson strive. A lawyer by training and graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law, Liz enjoys helping local businesses and individuals think critically and connect with mentors and advocates within their community to reach their goals. Liz has been part of the leadership team for the annual TENWEST Impact Festival for over four years and has helped shaped the Festival into what it is today. Liz is a member of the Downtown Tucson Partnership Board of Directors and Co-Chair of their Urban Innovation and Emerging Technology Committee. She is also a Google Women Techmaker Ambassador and a member of the SBDC of Southern Arizona’s Advisory Group. Originally from Needles, California, Liz, her husband Bjorgvin and their schnoodle Buckley have called Tucson home for the last 10 years.
Dre Voelkel, Festival Director of TENWEST and Startup Tucson:
As Programs and Events Director, Dre oversees the design, planning, and execution of Startup Tucson’s educational and discovery events and well as the Festival Director for TENWEST Festival. Dre brings to this position a diverse background in both public and private sectors as well as her own experiences as an entrepreneur and business owner. Throughout her various roles, her driving and central passion has been to support communities in tackling their most vexing challenges through innovative and research-based initiatives. Dre brings a wealth of creativity, a deep understanding of human behavior, and extensive experience crafting, measuring, and evaluating community-wide initiatives in Chicago and New York City. Through her work, Dre has learned how to bring diverse stakeholders to the table for powerful and impactful collaborations.
Emil Tremblay

Emil is Chief Executive Officer of SGNT INC. His key functional areas include company vision, direction & strategy, technology development, and fund-raising. SGNT is Emil’s second technology startup, the first being a Canadian firm specializing in the application of RFID to industrial inventory management. With more than 15 years of experience in the technology space and a lifelong track-record in sales and leadership, he brings his software engineering background and entrepreneurial spirit to his roles as Co-Founder and CEO. Additionally, Emil is the inventor of the break-through technology that inspired the creation of SGNT.

Tommy is Chief Operating Officer of SGNT INC. His key functional areas include business development and strategy, business operations, and sales and marketing. A graduate of the University of Arizona Eller School of Business, Tommy founded, built, and ran a successful retail business. With more than 15 years of B2B and B2C sales, government procurement, e-commerce operations, extensive organizational, and logistics experience, SGNT’s sales, marketing, and logistics roles have a leader with a rare skill for a technology startup.
