The Workplace Wisdom podcast features host Brock Holland interviewing Kayla Norris, owner of Marketing Mainstreet, about strategies for growing a small business through hiring and delegating. Kayla explains how she started her marketing agency to help small businesses in Northwest Arkansas that couldn’t afford big agencies. As demand grew, she had to hire help even when she didn’t feel ready, starting with creative tasks she didn’t enjoy.
Letting go of control was hard, but empowering employees to improve processes paid off. Now with 3 full-time and 3 part-time team members, Kayla focuses on business development while the team handles production. Though stepping back was uncomfortable, she realizes the team is more productive without her micromanaging.
Kayla Norris is the founder and owner of Marketing Mainstreet, a full-service marketing agency based in Rogers, AR.
After a career in TV sales, Kayla started the agency in 2021 to fill a need for affordable marketing help for local small businesses. Her passion is helping Northwest Arkansas companies grow through modern marketing approaches while maintaining vintage small business values.
